 USBLock is a desktop locking software that allows a user to lock computer's desktop and unlock it through a physical drive (USB Device) only.

By using this software, unauthorized access to a computer will be lessen.

USBLock can be considered as a complete desktop locking software since it only unlocks the desktop if the specified device is inserted. Task manager can be opened by pressing the hotkeys "ctrl+alt+del". But doing this won't make the program useless, since it is designed to focus only to itself once locked.

        If you have a computer that has many unauthorized access and you're looking for a software that locks your desktop, there are many softwares that can be found over the internet. But almost all of those softwares needs a textual password which means if someone knows it, that person can access your files.

USBLock is a desktop locking software that allows a user to lock computer's desktop and unlock it through a physical drive (USB Device) only.

By using this software, unauthorized access to a computer will be lessen.

USBLock can be called as a complete desktop locking software since it only unlocks the desktop if the specified device is inserted. Task manager can be opened by pressing the hotkeys "ctrl+alt+del". System requirements:

• Windows platform
• .Net Framework 3.5
• x86 Operating System

Hardware requirement:

• Any USB Device

How to use:

1. Download the software USBLock.
2. Install USBLock.
3. When the installation is complete, open USBLock that is located on the desktop.
4. A dialog box will appear, enter your desired password.
5. After a password is set, the Main Menu will appear.
6. To set a USB Password, click "Settings".

• You will be asked for a password, enter the password you typed earlier.
• If you entered the correct password, you will see two tabs, "Main" and "Password", click "Password"
• Click "Set USB Password"
• Insert your USB drive and wait for it to be detected, once in the list, select it and click "Set"
• You have specified your USB Password, you may now close and go to the Main Menu. 
• To change your Application Password

     7. To change Application Password, go to "Settings > Password"

• Fill up the fields and click "Change"

     8. Now that you have set your passwords, you may now lock your desktop by clicking "Lock Desktop"
         or you may use the registered hotkey which is by default "ctrl+alt+L"
     9. If your desktop is locked, be sure to bring with you your USB Password.
     10. Changing Hotkeys

• Goto "Settings > Main"

* Application password is used if you want to change your USB Password.

Looking for a software that locks your desktop? USBLock might be useful for you......

USBLock - is a simple application that locks computer desktop. This simple app allows a user to lock desktop to prevent unauthorized person to change or view files on the computer. In order to unlock the desktop again, the user must have the physical drive or USB device that is specified as the "USB Password". Without this drive, users can't unlock the desktop.

While the desktop is locked, the keyboard won't work except the "ctrl+alt+del" keys which means typing any characters does not send the command to the system. If a user press the "ctrl+alt+del" combo keys, task manager will be opened but will lose its focus thus, the users cannot force the program to be terminated.

Functions:

Set Password - clicking this button allows the user to change the application password and the USB
                        Password.
            Application Password - the password used in accessing the change USB Password menu, this
                                                password is not used as alternate if USB Password is not present.
             USB Password - the physical drive to be used to unlock the desktop.

Lock Desktop - this button locks the desktop."ALT+SHIFT+L" is an alternate for this.

                   (ALT+SHIFT+L) - Hotkey to lock the desktop (USBLock should be running ----duuuuh! :p).

Minimize - sends the application on tray.

Exit - closes the application. Hotkey won't work anymore (Obviously :p).
